This movie is like wine, the more it ages the better it gets and I will be explaining why this movie is great and why critics are wrong on this one and why it's one of the most polarizing film of the last decade:
1. The Core Of This Film: Many people were surprised on how many times batman killed people through it's run-time, well I'm here to tell you that this isn't the first time it has happened. Nolan's Batman, Tim Burton's Batman, The Comics...all have shown Batman killing people so and Zack even does it in style with action being of same aesthetic to that of Arkham Games, and we have to understand that this batman is on a singular mission of killing Superman for the past 18 months while bearing the horrors of Joker killing Robin, burning down Wayne Manor, weighing down every day for his loss of parents, basically he has become his own doom and the Bat has taken over Bruce Wayne. SO BATMAN KILLING IN THIS MOVIE IS FINE WITH ME. Another point that many people raise is of batman using guns, I mean come on...Give Zack Snyder a break, while I do accept that Batman doesn't use guns in the comic, this movie doesn't ruin the experience for me. So that concludes Batman's issue in this film(The issues that I was able to pick through different reviews)
Next up is Superman, the complaint that many people have is Superman simply flying away after capitol bombing, another issue is of him killing Batman being too shabby or They not able to sit through and talk the issue of. First off, all of the above issues were rectified in the directors' cut(also called the "Ultimate Edition") I haven't watched it since it's R-Rated but I have seen clips of the above mentioned issues being rectified because we see Superman helping people but flying away after seeing the remorse all around, we see Clark Kent doing journalism and coming to the conclusion that Batman has made people of every sort living in Gotham terrified, added to his own guilt accepting Lex's request and the reason why him and Batman didn't talk because he was bombarded with machine guns and sound guns all of this was happening while Superman's mother was kidnapped and about to be killed, do you really think they are going to take a sip of coffee and talk about it(People didn't seem to object when Cap and Tony were fighting in Civil War, even though Tony says he has run out of patience and Superman does the same without speaking, yet one is loved and other is still hated by some people). We also see exactly how Superman was framed for the killings in the desert, Even I accept that theatrical cut was messy for Superman's perspective of the film but I would blame the studio-executives and not the director.
Coming to Lex Luthor, I personally found it Jesse Eisenberg performance to be great, sure it's not the Lex Luthor of the comics but that version would not fit in with Snyder's vision and in my opinion it's fine to tweak the character basis if it complements the story(Mandarin from Iron Man 3 and Thor from Thor: Ragnarok are some examples from the MCU)
Lois Lane is just fine, it still hurts to watch her throwing and then again grabbing the kryptonite spear but it's just fine
Finally coming to the Martha scene which made everyone just scathingly hate this film, in my opinion this scene wasn't cringe, bad, over-the-top, cheesy at all, let me explain by taking you through Batman's shoes. Imagine that you are a person who hates someone for the past 18 months because you feel that he doesn't have compassion for humans but you suddenly see that the person readily agrees to sacrifice himself for the well-being of someone else, added to the fact is that "someone else" shares the same name as your mother who was killed and you carry the guilt of her death for god-knows how many years...how would you feel?, would you want to have that other person share the same guilt by killing him whilst also taking the blame of his mother's death
That is why I believe Batman V Superman is great, the theatrical cut is decent but Ultimate Edition is truly Ultimate(from what I've heard as I wasn't able to see the Ultimate edition due to it's R-Rating)
2. Action: It's Zack Snyder....it's going to be awesome
3. Music: Hans Zimmer. Period
4. Story: I proved my point
5. Direction: It's Zack Snyder again, his films are just visually beautiful!
I wouldn't be giving it a overall score as this film needs to be seen and felt.
Thanks for reading.
